About the Role

Role & Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality primary care services at Hughenden Doctors Surgery
• Deliver comprehensive general practice services as a salaried medical officer
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions within a rural healthcare setting
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Contribute to continuity of care and community-based health services
• Support clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives
• Participate in professional development, training, and service improvement activities

Qualification
• Mandatory qualification with appropriate medical registration authority
• Awarded Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP)
• Current registration with relevant Australian medical board

Experience
• Experience in general practice or rural medicine preferred
• Ability to manage diverse clinical presentations independently
• Experience working in regional or remote healthcare settings desirable

Skills
• Strong clinical judgement and primary care expertise
• Ability to work autonomously in rural environments
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to patient-centred, culturally safe care
• Adaptability and resilience in regional healthcare delivery

Additional Requirements
• Possession of a Class C driver’s licence
• Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) compliant
• Ability to pass pre-employment checks including NDIS Screening
• Probation period may apply
