Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide specialist assessment, management, and treatment for patients with complex pelvic floor disorders
• Work closely with urogynaecology, colorectal consultants, and multidisciplinary team members
• Carry and manage a clinical caseload within the pelvic health service
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Set patient-centred goals in collaboration with clients and carers
• Deliver evidence-based pelvic health physiotherapy interventions
• Maintain accurate clinical records, reports, and outcome measures
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and service planning
• Ensure compliance with clinical governance, safety, and quality standards
• Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
Skills Required
• Advanced specialist assessment and treatment skills in pelvic health physiotherapy
• In-depth knowledge of urogynaecological and colorectal pelvic floor conditions
• Strong clinical reasoning and independent decision-making ability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Strong organizational, reporting, and service development skills
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centred care
Qualifications
• Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc / MSc) from a recognised institution
• CORU registration or CORU Section 91 application number (mandatory)
• Eligibility for membership of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP)
Experience
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification clinical experience (mandatory)
• At least 4 years’ specialist experience in pelvic health physiotherapy
• Experience managing complex pelvic floor presentations
• Evidence of relevant postgraduate training in pelvic health
Additional Requirements
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Active participation in teaching, in-service training, and professional development
• Experience in auditing, research, or service development is desirable
• Strong awareness of current research, trends, and healthcare developments
• Must meet health, character, and age eligibility requirements as per regulations
