Role & Responsibilities
• Conduct telehealth consultations with patients seeking alternative medicine treatment
• Assess patient suitability based on medical history, current conditions, and prior treatments
• Prescribe medicinal cannabis where clinically appropriate and in line with TGA requirements
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on safety, function, and quality of life
• Provide follow-up consultations and ongoing monitoring
• Educate patients on expected benefits, dosing, and responsible use
• Maintain accurate and thorough clinical records
• Practice in accordance with AHPRA standards and relevant state and federal regulations
• Ensure informed consent is obtained and documented
• Identify and report adverse events in line with pharmacovigilance obligations
• Work collaboratively with the nursing team and clinical management
Qualification
• Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA
• Eligibility to prescribe Schedule 8 medications
• TGA Authorised Prescriber status for Medicinal Cannabis Categories 1-5
Experience
• Experience managing chronic conditions such as pain or mental health presentations
• Understanding of Australia’s medicinal cannabis regulatory environment
• Telehealth consultation experience (desirable but not essential)
Skills
• Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
• Interest in cannabinoid medicine and emerging treatment options
• Ability to work independently in a telehealth model
