Role & Responsibilities
• Evaluate and diagnose patients requiring surgical interventions through thorough assessments
• Perform a wide range of general surgical procedures while ensuring adherence to safety protocols
• Monitor patient progress pre-operatively and post-operatively to ensure optimal recovery
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Provide patient and family education regarding surgical options, risks, and recovery processes
• Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to departmental quality assurance initiatives
• Maintain meticulous and up-to-date medical records and documentation
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to discussions on best practices and clinical improvements
Qualifications
• Medical Doctor (MD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
• Completion of a residency program in General Surgery
• Board certification in General Surgery is essential
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of post-residency experience in a consultant or similar role
• Proficient in a broad spectrum of general surgical techniques
Skills
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care
• Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are a bonus
