Role & Responsibilities
• Supports, implements, and follows hospital, departmental, and divisional policies and procedures
• Leads and implements the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and productivity/utilization reviews
• Assists in scheduling and ensures adequate medical coverage within the division
• Attends divisional meetings and contributes to strategy and operations
• Assists in the recruitment of new medical staff when appropriate
• Oversees the clinical activities of junior medical staff and ensures quality patient care
• Diagnoses and treats patients according to established best practices in cardiology
• Leads ward rounds, reassesses inpatients and outpatients, and modifies treatment as necessary
Qualifications
• Medical degree from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 institution
• Current national license or equivalent
• Certified proof of yearly CME participation
Experience
• Tier 1: At least 2 years of relevant experience as a consultant or equivalent post-board certification
• Tier 2: At least 8 years of full-time employment as a Consultant or equivalent post-board certification, including fellowship training
• Clinical Fellowship training following primary specialty board may substitute experience (each year of clinical fellowship counts as two years of experience)
