Role & Responsibilities
• Provide overall clinical oversight and administrative leadership for addiction treatment services
• Formulate, review, and implement organisational healthcare policies, procedures, and ethical standards
• Oversee all clinical services, ensuring alignment with evidence-based addiction treatment practices
• Ensure safe and compliant use of controlled medications
• Provide direct psychiatric or medical care to a limited caseload of patients
• Integrate behavioural health, addiction services, and medical care for comprehensive treatment delivery
• Lead quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiatives
• Analyse clinical data, outcomes, and participate in peer review processes
• Mentor, guide, and supervise medical staff including psychiatrists, physicians, and clinical directors
• Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership on strategic planning and execution
• Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development of clinical teams
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and international accreditation standards (e.g. Joint Commission)
• Act as the primary liaison between administration, medical staff, regulators, insurers, and external stakeholders
• Manage medical department budgets, resources, and inventory efficiently
Qualification
• Western-trained Consultant Psychiatrist (Addiction)
• Recognised postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry
• Eligible for senior leadership and clinical practice in the UAE
Experience
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in addiction treatment or behavioural health
• Mandatory prior experience in a C-suite leadership role (Chief Medical Officer or equivalent)
• Experience leading large drug & alcohol rehabilitation facilities essential

• Strong clinical leadership and strategic decision-making skills
• Deep expertise in addiction psychiatry and rehabilitation medicine
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Strong governance, compliance, and accreditation knowledge
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills
• High ethical standards and patient safety focus
