About the Role

Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide medical care and support within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Hawkesbury District Hospital
• Offer expertise in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and manage clinical practice within the scope of the role
• Ensure participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty
• Supervise and teach junior medical staff consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards
• Support research activities as required within the Department
• Ensure high professional standards and model appropriate attitudes and behaviours to junior medical staff
• Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Qualification
• Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (RANZCOG) or equivalent
• Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices

Experience
• Sound clinical knowledge in Obstetrics & Gynaecology demonstrated through successful clinical practice
• Experience in quality assurance activities related to Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• High level interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision

Skills
• High level clinical expertise in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to supporting research activities
• Ability to model a high standard of professional behaviour
