Virtual Health Clinician - Registered Nurse
About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive telephone triage and clinical assessments via virtual health services
• Provide accurate health advice across diverse age groups and clinical presentations
• Assess urgency and recommend appropriate care pathways for callers
• Refer patients to relevant services such as GPs, Urgent Care Clinics, or Virtual Emergency Departments
• Support national healthcare access through the Healthdirect Helpline
• Deliver safe, evidence-based clinical guidance in a fully remote telehealth environment
Qualification
• Registered Nurse with unrestricted AHPRA Registration
• Residence within Australia
• Relevant clinical qualifications in nursing
Experience
• Minimum 3 years recent RN experience (within the last 5 years, excluding postgraduate year)
• Hands-on experience in acute care, Emergency Department, or complex primary care settings
• Experience in clinical assessment and high-pressure clinical environments
• Experience with telehealth or digital healthcare systems (preferred)
Skills
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Telephone triage and decision-making capability
• Excellent communication skills for diverse patient populations
• Computer literacy and proficiency with telehealth platforms and digital tools
• Ability to work independently in a remote, flexible environment
