About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide after-hours telehealth consultations via secure video or phone for patients who have nominated the service as their after-hours provider
• Support on-road visiting doctors by delivering timely virtual reviews and ensuring continuity of care
• Manage patient triage, clinical decision-making, and appropriate escalation within after-hours care pathways
• Use purpose-built telehealth software integrating video/audio, billing, and reporting to deliver compliant care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation while following service governance and compliance requirements
• Work across selected shift types (sociable or unsociable after-hours) based on availability and preference
Qualification
• General or Specialist registration with AHPRA
Experience
• Minimum PGY3+ experience with exposure to Emergency and Paediatrics
• AGPT doctors eligible for vocational rebate (where applicable)
Skills
• Strong after-hours clinical judgement and safe telehealth decision-making
• Clear communication skills for video/phone consultations
• Ability to work independently from home with remote team support
• Competence in managing urgent presentations and recognising escalation triggers
• Comfortable using digital telehealth platforms for consults, billing, and reporting
