Team Lead- Medical Affairs
About the Role
Role & Responsibilities
• Provide strategic and tactical medical inputs to Product Management for ethical promotion of assigned oncology products
• Lead design, review, and approval of medical-marketing programs and promotional/educational materials in compliance with SOPs and industry codes
• Facilitate high-quality scientific interactions with healthcare professionals and support continuing medical education initiatives
• Develop, review, and approve clinical protocols and supporting documents for local and global clinical projects
• Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs and Clinical Development on training, safety reporting, ongoing studies, and NDA planning
• Deliver accurate, balanced, and timely medical information to internal teams and external stakeholders
• Conduct sales force training on basic sciences, assigned products, and pre-launch/launch activities for new oncology products
• Support new product planning, pre-commercialization programs, market research, stakeholder mapping, and early access initiatives
• Provide medical expertise for product registration, labelling review, adverse event processing, and defence of marketed products
• Act as the single-point Medical Affairs contact for CRM and cross-functional operational coordination
• Develop deep expertise in oncology therapeutic areas, disease management, health economics, HTA, outcomes research, and medical information
• Lead, mentor, and manage Medical Affairs team members while fostering a culture of learning, compliance, and performance
• Support cluster Head Medical Affairs in budgeting, provisioning, and expense control
Qualification
• Post-graduate degree in Pharmacology or other medical specialty OR Graduate degree in Medicine
Experience
• 6–8 years of relevant experience in Medical Affairs or Medical Advisor roles
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Oncology Therapy Area
• Prior experience handling new product launches in oncology
Skills
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical R&D, drug development, commercialization, and regulatory requirements
• Expertise in clinical pharmacology, clinical trial design, and therapeutic area knowledge
• Proficiency in medical writing, scientific presentations, and medical training delivery
• Strong analytical thinking, sound medical judgement, and decision-making skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
