Staff Nurse

Roles & Responsibilities
• Ensure effective leadership in nursing care for post-operative patients in the operation theatre recovery room
• Manage the Operating Theatre recovery room to ensure high standards of client care and safety
• Work with the operation theatre recovery room team in the direct delivery of post-operative care
• Implement all statutory regulations and guidelines in the OT recovery room
• Perform checks on swabs, packs, instruments, and needles with the circulator
• Ensure findings are charted and displayed on the count record sheet
• Prepare the mayo table and required instruments for surgery
• Assist in skin preparation and draping the patient for surgery
• Pass surgical instruments and assist the surgeon as needed during surgery
• Maintain sterile field and minimize noise and movement during surgery
• Assist with post-operative procedures such as cleaning and dressing the wound
• Shift patients to the recovery room and communicate relevant information to the recovery nurse

Qualification
• General Nursing and Midwife
• Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
• Bachelor of Science - Nursing

Experience
• 1 - 5 years of experience
