About the Role
Role & Responsibilities
• Perform bed making with clean linen and manage linen in the nursing station.
• Report any torn or unclean linen and bring it to the attention of the linen-in-charge.
• Notify the doctor on duty if any abnormal investigation reports or changes in patient condition are observed, ensuring prompt medical attention.
• Receive patients in the ward after admission and perform routine duties.
• Check vital signs, draw blood for lab investigations as ordered by doctors, and administer medication as prescribed.
• Follow pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
• Regularly update the Consultant/Resident Doctor about the patient's condition.
• Assist the Consultant/Resident Doctor in performing routine procedures.
• Manage the requisition of medicines for the nursing station and maintain standard stock levels.
• Monitor the expiry dates of drugs weekly and replace them with fresh stock.
• Assist patients and their attendants when needed, including helping with bedpans and urinals.
Qualifications
• Nursing experience (3 years preferred)
• KNC certificate (preferred)
• Relevant nursing qualification (GNM, BSc Nursing, or equivalent)
Skills
• Strong nursing skills and knowledge of patient care procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, medical environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
