Sr. Clinical Data Coder

Roles & Responsibilities
• Manage single and multi-service clinical data coding projects ensuring quality, timelines, and budget adherence
• Act as subject matter expert in clinical data coding across global studies
• Serve as lead contact for customers on coding-related projects and negotiations
• Lead and support coding teams on large, complex global clinical trials
• Perform lead data coding and coding review activities independently
• Conduct quality control checks and SAE reconciliation activities
• Identify, resolve, and proactively prevent quality and delivery issues
• Manage customer relationships at project and site level
• Support project planning, milestone tracking, and financial management
• Identify and manage out-of-scope activities with appropriate due diligence
• Mentor and develop junior coders and data management staff
• Implement best practices, process improvements, and quality initiatives
• Support adoption of new technologies within coding and CDM functions
• Contribute to SOPs, work instructions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate closely with CDM teams and client stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery

Qualification
• Qualification in Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Life Sciences, or related discipline
• Educational equivalent or relevant professional qualification acceptable

Experience
• Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in clinical trials within data coding or data management
• Proven experience managing coding delivery for multiple global projects
• Experience handling complex customer negotiations and bid defense activities

Skills
• Expert knowledge of medical dictionaries such as MedDRA, WHODD, and ICD
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology
• Advanced knowledge of clinical data management processes and systems
• Strong understanding of clinical drug development lifecycle
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team management skills
• Strong project management and financial management capabilities
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English
• High attention to detail with ability to work independently
• Strong stakeholder management and customer engagement skills
• Ability to drive process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma principles
