Specialist Pharmacist - Haematology/Oncology - Grade 3
About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Lead, coordinate, and develop specialist pharmacy services within Haematology/Oncology
• Provide advanced clinical pharmacy services to oncology and haematology patients
• Review, validate, dispense, compound, and check medicines to ensure safe and timely therapy
• Deliver expert medication management advice to multidisciplinary teams
• Act as a clinical resource, mentor, and peer supervisor to pharmacy staff
• Drive medication safety and quality use of medicines initiatives
• Identify, implement, evaluate, and report on continuous quality improvement projects
• Contribute to clinical governance, policy development, and best-practice standards
• Support workforce development and contribute to performance targets
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver patient-centred care
• Participate in research, audits, and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Support patient flow through efficient medication management processes
Qualification
• Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent
• Current registration as a practicing pharmacist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications or specialist training (highly desirable)
Experience
• Significant clinical pharmacy experience in hospital settings
• Advanced knowledge in Haematology/Oncology pharmacy practice
• Demonstrated leadership and service development experience
• Experience in mentoring and supervising pharmacy staff
