Specialist Gastroenterologist

Role & Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including detailed medical history and physical examination for accurate diagnosis of gastrointestinal disorders
• Perform advanced endoscopic procedures including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP with strict adherence to patient safety protocols
• Interpret diagnostic investigations such as imaging studies and laboratory results to formulate evidence-based treatment plans
• Manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions with a patient-centred approach
• Collaborate with surgeons, nutritionists, radiologists, and other specialists to deliver holistic care for complex GI cases
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with hospital clinical governance standards

Qualification
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent postgraduate qualification
• Board Certification in Gastroenterology is mandatory
• Valid specialist registration eligibility as per Oman medical licensing requirements

Experience
• 5–10 years of relevant clinical experience in gastroenterology
• Hands-on experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy
• Prior experience managing complex gastrointestinal disorders in a hospital setting preferred

Skills
• Expertise in advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary coordination abilities
• Commitment to continuous medical education and clinical excellence
