Senior Resident Medical Officer

Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide effective medical services to patients under appropriate supervision in a complex clinical environment
• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients across general medical services at Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital
• Participate in ward rounds, clinical reviews, and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Manage urgent and sensitive clinical matters with discretion and confidentiality
• Communicate all patient care decisions clearly with the responsible specialist (Attending Medical Officer)
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation as per hospital policies
• Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiatives
• Progressively adopt greater clinical independence based on skills and experience under specialist guidance

Qualification
• Medical degree recognised in Australia
• Registration or eligibility for registration with AHPRA
• Qualifications and experience meeting the Essential Requirements for SRMO role

Experience
• Experience commensurate with Senior Resident Medical Officer level
• Ability to work independently within a supervised clinical environment
• Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
