Senior Medical Science Liaison
About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Serve as the medical/scientific voice of expertise for Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) products and therapeutic areas.
• Engage with ADC stakeholders and provide medical/scientific expert evidence/guidance on ADC products and therapeutic areas.
• Conduct scientific exchange and professional development with key thought leaders/external experts.
• Provide medical affairs support to the commercial team.
• Support the scientific credibility of ADC with national and regional thought leaders by facilitating scientific dialogue and collaboration in research, scientific publications, and medical/scientific exchange.
• Interface regularly with appropriate commercial team members.
• Maintain high-level scientific knowledge to ensure credible dissemination of scientific information.
• Provide scientific and medical leadership to ensure professional and credible relationships with thought leaders and external experts of strategic importance to ADC.
• Ensure a strong medical and scientific presence for ADC in key academic centers through the facilitation of research and educational initiatives.
• Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with other in-field members while retaining functional independence.
• Serve as the point of contact for thought leaders and external experts, addressing their needs for scientific knowledge in a therapeutic area and relevant ADC products.
• Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to healthcare providers, focusing on Tier 1 and 2 thought leaders.
• Participate in the selection process for identifying qualified thought leaders for educational and advisory roles.
• Attend relevant scientific meetings and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop summaries of key data to inform ADC strategic priorities.
• Staff the Medical Affairs area at national scientific meetings and congresses.
• Provide scientific and technical support for publications of scientific or medical interest.
• Ensure compliance with local/national laws, regulations, company policies, and accepted best practices.
Qualification
• Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/medical field (Master's degree preferred).
Experience
• 3-8 years of experience in a related field.
• Expertise in metabolic disorders/diabetes is highly preferred.
