• Position: Senior Medical Officer – Oakey

Responsibilities
• Deliver expert rural generalist and emergency care
• Provide clinical leadership across ED, inpatient ward and outpatient clinics
• Participate in on-call and 24/7 roster requirements
• Lead teaching, supervision and mentoring of medical teams
• Drive quality improvement, audit and peer review activities
• Support outreach and preventive health initiatives in rural communities
• Plan safe transfers and stabilisation of emergency patients

Required Qualifications
• Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners
• Or enrolment in an accredited rural generalist training program
• Eligibility to work in Australia

Educational Requirements
• Recognised medical degree
• FRACGP or FACRRM (or active training pathway toward Fellowship)

Experience and Skills
• Broad rural generalist and emergency medicine skills
• Comfortable working on-call within a 24/7 roster
• Advanced emergency credentials (desirable) such as EM certificates or point-of-care ultrasound
• Rural procedural skills highly regarded
• Experience in service improvement, research or community outreach (advantageous)
• Strong leadership, mentoring and communication abilities

Salary Insights
• Base salary between $97,801 (L13) and $143,697 (L27) (pro rata)

• Superannuation up to 12.75% and 17.5% annual leave loading applied separately
