Job Description
Mygration Pty Ltd is recruiting an experienced Residential Care Officer for a community-based, not-for-profit aged care home in Meningie, South Australia. You will report to the Aged Care Facility Manager and work as part of a supportive care team.
Your main responsibility is to provide high-quality care to residents while following individual care plans and organisational policies. This includes assisting with personal care, supporting mealtimes, maintaining clean and organised rooms, and helping with daily routines.
You will keep resident documentation accurate and up to date. This includes writing daily notes, updating care plans, and recording any changes in a resident’s condition. If you notice concerns about a resident’s health or wellbeing, you must report them promptly to the supervising nurse or manager.
The role also involves helping with specialised nursing care under supervision and supporting residents’ independence wherever possible. Respect for privacy, dignity, and individual choice is essential.
Good communication is important. You will work closely with colleagues, families, GPs, and allied health professionals to ensure residents receive coordinated and respectful care.

Responsibilities
As a Residential Care Officer, you provide high-quality care that supports residents’ comfort, wellbeing, and independence. Each day, you work closely with residents, nursing staff, families, and allied health professionals to ensure care plans are followed and updated. Maintaining accurate resident documentation, including daily notes, assessments, and care plans.
Monitoring and reporting changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or behavioural needs.

Supporting meal service and assisting residents during mealtimes.
Ensuring rooms are clean, beds are made, and fresh linen is available.
Organising and returning laundered clothing to correct rooms.
Delivering specialised nursing care under supervision in accordance with care plans.
Providing companionship and emotional support to residents.
Communicating effectively with colleagues, families, GPs, and allied health professionals.
Supporting compliance with Aged Care Standards and company policies.
Participating in meetings, training sessions, and mandatory education programs.
Identifying and reporting risks, hazards, or complaints.
Following all Occupational Health & Safety policies and safe work practices.

Required Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must demonstrate:
Minimum one year of relevant full-time experience in aged care or a similar residential care setting.
A Diploma or relevant qualification in aged care, community services, or a related discipline.
Current annual influenza vaccination and full COVID-19 immunisation.
Satisfactory National Police Check.
Signed statutory declaration disclosing any serious overseas criminal history.
Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transport.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to long-term employment and high standards of resident care.
Preferred (but not mandatory):
Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (within five years).

Salary Insights
The salary for this role ranges from $76,600 to $80,000 per year, depending on your experience and skill level. Superannuation is paid in addition to this base salary.
