About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide routine inpatient medical care and manage after-hours admissions
• Conduct clinical assessments for newly admitted patients and patients with changed clinical conditions
• Support consulting specialists and collaborate closely with the clinical nursing team
• Manage complex acute care patients with appropriate clinical judgement
• Ensure compliance with National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards
• Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety regulations and infection control procedures
• Participate in rostered shifts including AM, PM, night, and weekend duties
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient confidentiality
Qualification
• Current and full unrestricted general registration with AHPRA (no limited registration)
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
Experience
• Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience (PGY3 and above)
• Recent relevant acute care experience
• Experience managing complex patients in hospital settings
Skills
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of National Safety and Quality Health Care standards
• Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety Act and infection control protocols
• Excellent communication and person-centred care approach
• Flexibility to work across varied shifts
