Job Description

Solenis is hiring a Regulatory Specialist – Toxicology for its Global Product Stewardship team based in Mumbai, India (hybrid working model). The organization is seeking a technically strong candidate with an M.Sc in Chemistry (with toxicology exposure) or M.Pharm in Pharmacology/Toxicology and 1–3 years of relevant experience in regulatory toxicology or safety assessment.

The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting food contact safety assessments, cosmetic risk assessments, toxicological data interpretation, and regulatory documentation support. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, understanding of toxicological risk assessment principles, and the ability to derive scientifically justified exposure limits such as ADE and PDE values.

Responsibilities Required

Perform both Indirect and Direct Food Contact Safety Assessments to evaluate product compliance with relevant global regulatory frameworks.
Prepare and issue Food Contact Safety Letters to customers, ensuring scientific accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Derive Acceptable Daily Exposure (ADE) and Permitted Daily Exposure (PDE) values for multiple exposure routes using toxicological data and risk assessment methodologies.
Conduct Cosmetic Safety Risk Assessments based on ingredient toxicological profiles and exposure scenarios.
Review, interpret, and evaluate toxicology and ecotoxicology data from studies, literature, and regulatory sources.
Support product and component classification under applicable chemical legislation.
Maintain accurate documentation aligned with global regulatory compliance standards and internal quality systems.
Collaborate closely with the Europe-based Toxicology Manager and cross-functional regulatory teams to ensure consistent global compliance strategies.
Provide scientific input to support new product development and reformulation activities from a toxicological safety perspective.
Assist in responding to regulatory queries, customer audits, and compliance documentation requests.
Monitor evolving regulatory requirements related to food contact materials, cosmetic safety, and chemical risk assessment.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a strong academic foundation in toxicology, pharmacology, or chemistry, along with practical experience in regulatory toxicology or safety assessment.

Educational Requirements:

M.Sc in Chemistry with toxicology exposure

M.Pharm in Pharmacology or Toxicology

Experience and Skills:

1–3 years of relevant experience in toxicology, regulatory affairs, or safety assessment roles.
