Registered Nurse (Operation Theatre Nurse)

Role & Responsibilities
• Prepare the Operation Theatre before surgeries, ensuring availability and sterility of instruments, equipment, and consumables
• Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and OT technicians during surgical procedures as per assigned roles (scrub/circulating nurse)
• Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques, infection control, and OT protocols
• Monitor patient vitals and assist in patient positioning, safety checks, and surgical time-outs
• Ensure proper handling, counting, and documentation of surgical instruments, swabs, and consumables
• Coordinate with CSSD for sterilization and timely availability of surgical instruments
• Support post-operative patient transfer and handover to recovery room staff
• Maintain accurate OT records, checklists, and compliance documentation
• Adhere to NABH and hospital quality standards at all times

Skills
• Strong knowledge of OT procedures and sterile practices
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Good communication, teamwork, and attention to detail
• Commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence

Qualifications
• GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) or B.Sc Nursing
• 1+ year of experience in an Operation Theatre or Surgical Services setting
