About the Role
Role & Responsibilities
• Prime dialyzers and bloodlines prior to dialysis procedures
• Oversee dialysis treatment from initiation to completion
• Record patient medical information, vital signs, and treatment data
• Cannulate vascular access and manage permanent and temporary catheters
• Monitor, adjust, and interpret data from dialysis equipment
• Identify and manage irregular dialysis reactions and escalate appropriately
• Secure blood samples and ensure proper handling and documentation
• Provide pre- and post-procedure nursing care to patients
• Educate patients and caregivers on post-treatment care, medications, diet, nutrition, and exercise
• Conduct patient assessments and recommend treatment adjustments based on clinical needs
• Follow nephrologist orders and clinical protocols
• Support home hemodialysis admission through patient home visit assessments
• Facilitate communication between patients, families, and training teams
• Supervise and guide dialysis technicians during clinical operations
• Maintain medical inventory and dialysis supplies
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Critical care or hemodialysis qualification preferred
Experience
• 2 to 6 years of experience as a Hemodialysis Registered Nurse
• Experience in adult and pediatric hemodialysis preferred
Skills
• Strong hemodialysis and clinical nursing skills
• Excellent infection control and patient safety practices
• Effective communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to multitask in a high-acuity clinical environment
• Team collaboration and leadership skills
• Proficiency in English communication
