About the Role
Role & Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive infection risk assessments across all clinical areas to identify vulnerabilities
• Develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols in line with national and international guidelines
• Investigate healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), including outbreak management, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
• Monitor compliance with hand hygiene, PPE usage, sterilisation, and environmental infection control practices
• Provide expert consultation, training, and education to healthcare professionals on infection prevention measures
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to infection control activities
• Participate in audits, surveillance programs, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) or eligibility to obtain certification within a defined
Experience
• 2–4 years of relevant clinical nursing experience
• Experience in infection prevention, acute care, or hospital settings is preferred
• Prior exposure to surveillance, audits, or IPC programs is an advantage
Skills
• Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control principles
• Excellent analytical, observational, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and staff training abilities
• Attention to detail with a strong focus on patient safety and compliance
