Job Description
• The Principal House Officer / Registrar is responsible for delivering clinical services within the Emergency Department.
• You will contribute to the development of the department’s efficiency and work in an environment that emphasizes continuous learning and patient care.
Key Features of the Role:
• Temporary full-time role (76 hrs per fortnight)
• Based at Mackay Base Hospital, QLD
• Accredited for Specialist Fellowship Training by ACEM
• Opportunities for non-ED terms in Anaesthetics, ICU, and other departments
• Ample learning opportunities, including point-of-care ultrasound training
Responsibilities
• Provide medical care to patients in the Emergency Department
• Participate in the development and improvement of clinical services
• Contribute to medical education and knowledge dissemination to staff and patients
• Ensure that all clinical services are provided effectively, efficiently, and equitably
• Participate in the ongoing evaluation of medical services
Required Qualifications
• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Eligible for full registration as a medical practitioner
• Fourth or subsequent year of practical experience in emergency medicine
Educational Requirements:
• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
• Postgraduate training in Emergency Medicine or related fields
Experience and Skills:
• 4+ years of practical experience after eligibility for full registration
• Experience in emergency care is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team environment
• Willingness to participate in medical education and training programs
