About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Assist Staff Specialists and Senior Medical Staff in the management of General Surgery services
• Support delivery of high-quality surgical care under the direction of the Director and senior clinicians
• Participate in the General Surgery on-call roster including after-hours, night and weekend shifts
• Support visiting Urology services as required
• Participate in clinical meetings, case presentations and continuous professional development
• Provide leadership and teaching to Resident Medical Officers
• Contribute to undergraduate teaching of medical students
Qualification
• MBBS or equivalent qualification
• Eligibility for registration with AHPRA at Level 3 supervision
• For international qualifications: IELTS (or equivalent), AMC MCQ (Part 1) completion and evidence of recent clinical practice
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
Experience
• Relevant experience in General Surgery
• Demonstrated ability to work in hospital-based surgical services

• Strong clinical and surgical management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Teaching and leadership capability
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Compliance with Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements
