Physiotherapist

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform initial and ongoing physiotherapy assessments for patients recovering from burn injuries
• Design individualized rehabilitation programs focusing on range of motion restoration, contracture prevention, and scar tissue management
• Implement pain relief techniques such as TENS, cryotherapy, and manual therapy
• Conduct strengthening and mobility exercises to support functional recovery
• Assist with splinting and positioning for joint protection and postural correction when required
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, joint protection, and daily activity modifications
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, occupational therapists, nurses, and psychologists
• Monitor, document, and report patient progress using standardized assessment tools
• Participate in rehabilitation planning, discharge processes, and follow-up care

QUALIFICATION:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy (BPT/MPT) from a recognized institution

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 1–3 years of clinical physiotherapy experience
• At least 1 year of experience in burn or trauma rehabilitation preferred

SKILLS:
• Strong knowledge of burn injury physiology, scar maturation, and rehabilitation timelines
• Expertise in manual therapy, myofascial release, and post-surgical mobility restoration
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS:
• Certification in Burn Rehabilitation, Advanced Manual Therapy, or Neuro-Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation
• ICU, plastic surgery, or burn unit experience is an advantage
• Training in splinting and positioning for contracture prevention is preferred
