Job Description
Apollo Pharmacy is hiring Pharmacists and Senior Pharmacists for its pharmacy outlets in Chennai. This position involves managing prescription dispensing, providing patient counselling, maintaining pharmacy inventory, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. Selected candidates will work closely with healthcare professionals and customers to ensure accurate medication dispensing and quality pharmacy services. The role also includes supporting retail pharmacy operations, customer service activities, and inventory management while maintaining high professional standards.

Responsibilities

Prescription Filling
• Attend to doctor prescriptions at the sales counter and advise dosage instructions to patients
• Dispense medicines based on valid prescriptions issued by doctors
• Arrange medicines from in-house pharmacies if prescribed medicines are unavailable
• Consult the doctor before substituting medicines
• Cross-check medicines issued with billing details including patient name, drug name, quantity, and expiry date

Customer Service
• Provide counselling to patients and customers regarding medication usage and possible reactions
• Maintain good professional relationships with customers and doctors
• Maintain records related to free home delivery services and ensure timely delivery of medicines
• Handle inbound calls related to drug information, patient counselling, and delivery orders
• Respond to patient queries related to drug therapy and medication information
• Assist with billing counter operations when required

Cold Chain Management
• Store medicines under proper refrigeration and security conditions as required

Inventory Management and Sales
• Enter stock details into the system and cross-check with store records
• Maintain records of out-of-stock items and follow up for replenishment
• Ensure physical stock verification according to product categories twice a week
• Conduct daily rack-wise verification of fast-moving items
• Verify quantity, MRP, batch number, and expiry date of received medicines
• Maintain proper shift hand-over and take-over between staff
• Focus on sales targets and contribute to pharmacy performance
• Manage billing records and documentation
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the pharmacy in-charge

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements:
• Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm)
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
• Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm)

Candidates must hold a valid registration with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

Experience and Skills:
• Freshers can apply
• Candidates with relevant pharmacy retail experience up to supervisor level may be preferred
• Updated knowledge of commercial pharmaceutical drugs
• Ability to handle prescriptions accurately
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
