Pharmacist
About the Role
Why This Role Matters
Pharmacists play a vital role in improving healthcare outcomes, especially for vulnerable and underserved populations. The Onsite Pharmacist roles (ACOP and ECOP) offered by Wellness Partners Foundation focus on addressing health inequalities across Australia.
Many communities, including older adults requiring aged care, people living in rural or remote regions, First Nations communities, and individuals experiencing homelessness, often face barriers in accessing consistent and safe healthcare services. Pharmacists embedded directly within care settings help bridge this gap by ensuring safer medication use, improving patient understanding of treatments, and collaborating with healthcare providers to enhance overall wellbeing. Through these roles, pharmacists contribute directly to improving medication safety, supporting health literacy, and delivering patient-centered care that aligns with the broader mission of improving healthcare equity in Australia. The opportunity also allows pharmacists to practice at the top of their professional scope, expanding their clinical involvement beyond traditional pharmacy settings.
