About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Deliver high-level clinical pharmacy services within the Emergency Medicine multidisciplinary team
• Undertake advanced pharmacy duties with minimal direct clinical supervision
• Provide time-critical, evidence-based medication advice to medical and nursing staff
• Support evaluation and implementation of new and emerging medicine therapies
• Ensure safe, effective, and appropriate medication management for emergency patients
• Participate in clinical decision-making within fast-paced emergency care settings
• Review medication charts and optimise pharmacotherapy plans
• Identify, prevent, and resolve medication-related problems
• Maintain compliance with professional, legislative, and ethical pharmacy standards
• Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to pharmacy practitioners
• Deliver clinical education and training to pharmacy staff and interns
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the Pharmacy service
• Support operational supervisors regarding service delivery and workforce planning
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting
• Participate in audit, research, and continuous improvement activities
• Actively contribute to Metro North Health’s health equity agenda
• Support culturally safe and responsive healthcare delivery, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
Qualification
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm)
• Registered Pharmacist with appropriate Australian registration
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications (desirable)
Experience
• Experience in Emergency Medicine Pharmacy or acute hospital clinical pharmacy
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in high-pressure clinical environments
• Experience in clinical supervision and mentoring preferred
