Pharmacist

Roles & Responsibilities
• Carry out selection, procurement, storage, distribution, dispensing, and documentation of pharmaceuticals
• Work independently with accountability for safe and accurate dispensing
• Be available on shift and on-call for emergencies as required
• Provide work direction and supervision to Assistant Pharmacists and support staff
• Manage and supervise pharmacy operations during assigned working hours
• Review prescriptions thoroughly and clarify with physicians and insurance providers when required
• Dispense medications after counseling patients and addressing their queries
• Dispense controlled and semi-controlled medicines and maintain statutory registers as per DOH regulations
• Ensure double-checking procedures before dispensing medications
• Identify, report, and act on medication errors, safety risks, and incidents
• Train newly recruited staff and supervise them during probation
• Supervise junior pharmacists and provide drug-related guidance
• Perform duties of Assistant Chief Pharmacist in their absence
• Participate in quality improvement and audit-related activities
• Advise physicians on equivalent or substitute medications and control drug usage when required
• Monitor and ensure quality pharmaceutical indicators
• Strictly follow organizational medical regulations, infection control, patient safety, and care policies
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, circulars, and regulatory requirements
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Chief Pharmacist or Department Head

Qualification
• Bachelor of Pharmacy from a recognized and accredited institution
• Valid Pharmacist license in home country
• Mandatory DOH License to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in an acute care hospital facility

Skills
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Sound knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
• Basic computer literacy
• High ethical standards and professional integrity
