Pharmacist

Roles & Responsibilities
• Manage end-to-end pharmacy operations with a high level of professional responsibility and judgment
• Maintain adequate inventory of medicines, supplies, and equipment for smooth pharmacy operations
• Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and maintain records for ordering and replenishment
• Review and interpret prescriptions in inpatient wards and outpatient settings
• Provide appropriate medication counseling and patient information when required
• Clarify prescription-related issues with prescribing physicians and escalate unresolved matters to the Chief Pharmacist
• Inspect wards and clinics for expired, deteriorated, or excess medication stock
• Conduct drug utilization and medication administration reviews
• Check and review ward medication stock registers to ensure availability and accuracy
• Replenish crash cart medications including controlled drugs and maintain crash cart lock registers
• Inspect pharmacy inventory and nursing cabinets and remove outdated or damaged medicines
• Respond to drug-related queries from physicians, dentists, and nursing staff
• Assist in training and orientation of new pharmacy staff as directed
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Pharmacist

Quality & Safety Responsibilities
• Promote and maintain quality standards across pharmacy services
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality control, and infection prevention policies
• Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and internal audits
• Follow environmental safety, infection control, and cross-infection prevention measures
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, and healthcare staff

Continuous Education
• Participate in staff education, induction programs, peer reviews, and clinical presentations
• Attend departmental meetings, hospital committees, and training programs when required
• Maintain professional knowledge through lectures, seminars, and online education
• Ensure timely completion of licensure, certification, and mandatory training requirements

Occupational Safety & Infection Control
• Comply with Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) and Infection Control policies
• Report hazards, incidents, and near misses and support risk assessments
• Use appropriate PPE and follow safe working procedures
• Adhere to waste management, recycling, and environmental safety practices
• Follow Prevention and Control of Infection (PCI) guidelines including hand hygiene standards

Qualification
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution

Experience & Licensure
• Currently licensed in country of origin
• Valid DHA license to practice as a Pharmacist in Dubai, UAE

Skills
• Strong knowledge of professional pharmacy practice and UAE healthcare regulations
• Ability to analyze drug-related medical problems
• Good understanding of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacotherapeutics
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer and IT proficiency
• Ability to work under pressure with good time management
• Supportive, patient-focused, and adaptable approach
