Pharmacist

Roles & Responsibilities
• Perform selection, procurement, storage, distribution, dispensing, and documentation of pharmaceuticals
• Work independently while ensuring legal and professional compliance in dispensing practices
• Supervise Assistant Pharmacists and related pharmacy staff
• Manage and supervise pharmacy operations during assigned working hours
• Review prescriptions thoroughly, clarify doubts with physicians and insurance providers, and counsel patients appropriately
• Dispense controlled and semi-controlled medications as per HAAD regulations and maintain required registers
• Provide spontaneous dispensing where permitted under regulations
• Advise physicians on drug equivalents/substitutes and monitor rational drug usage
• Ensure quality indicators and compliance with pharmaceutical standards
• Adhere strictly to infection control, patient safety, and patient care policies
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and circulars
• Support Chief Pharmacist and department head with additional responsibilities as assigned
• Follow Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) policies, report hazards/incidents, and participate in emergency and evacuation procedures
• Comply with waste management policies and use appropriate PPE

Qualification
• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution
• Valid Pharmacist license in home country
• Mandatory HAAD License to practice

Experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute care facility
• Experience in hospital pharmacy setting preferred

Skills
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, medical ethics, and HAAD regulations
• Excellent prescription review and patient counseling skills
• Strong supervisory and team management abilities
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and regulatory compliance
• Ability to handle emergency and on-call responsibilities
