Pharmacist

Roles & Responsibilities
• Dispense prescription and OTC medicines accurately as per doctor’s prescription
• Review prescriptions for correct dosage, potential drug interactions, and contraindications
• Counsel patients/customers on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage requirements
• Maintain prescription records and statutory documentation as per regulatory norms
• Ensure compliance with the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, Pharmacy Act, and applicable state/local regulations
• Manage pharmacy inventory and maintain accurate stock records
• Follow FEFO/FIFO practices for effective stock rotation
• Monitor and maintain appropriate storage conditions, including temperature and humidity
• Handle and document controlled drugs in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, vendors, and suppliers for smooth operations
• Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards within the pharmacy area

Qualifications
• B.Pharm / D.Pharm / M.Pharm from a recognized institution

Experience
• Experience in retail, hospital, or institutional pharmacy operations is preferred

Skills
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs and applicable regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing
• Good communication and patient counseling skills
• Inventory management and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently while ensuring regulatory compliance
• Professional ethics and accountability in pharmacy practice

Mandatory Requirements
• Must be registered with the Gujarat State Pharmacy Council
• Valid and active pharmacist registration certificate is mandatory
• Full-time engagement required
• Name lending or proxy registration is strictly prohibited
