Pharmacist

Roles & Responsibilities
• Review and interpret verbal and written medication orders for appropriateness, dosage form, allergies, interactions, incompatibilities, and clarity
• Communicate with healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies in medication orders and document interventions accurately
• Transcribe medication orders into computerized patient medication profiles and maintain complete records
• Identify and report medication errors in line with hospital policy
• Provide drug information and support to medical, nursing staff, and pharmacy students
• Inspect nursing units, address service-related issues, and recommend improvements to the Pharmacy Supervisor
• Support and coordinate Quality Improvement activities within assigned responsibilities
• Ensure uninterrupted 24-hour pharmacy services as per duty schedules
• Attend continuing pharmacy education programs and departmental meetings
• Participate in patient and family education to promote understanding of medications and treatment plans
• Act as a professional role model and represent the pharmacy department positively
• Perform additional duties within the scope of professional competence as assigned

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
• Valid professional pharmacy registration/license

Experience
• Essential: Knowledge and experience of pharmacy practice regulations and standards
• Desirable: More than 2 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting

Skills
• Knowledge of computerized pharmacy systems
• Experience with IV admixture and unit dose systems
• Strong communication and patient counseling skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Attention to detail and commitment to medication safety
• Middle East healthcare experience preferred
