Job Description
Chemist Discount Centre Boronia is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Pharmacist to join our dedicated team. This role is primarily focused on managing nursing home and community DAA operations while supporting dispensary tasks as required. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the pharmacist will play an integral role in maintaining medication safety, compliance, and accurate patient records. The position also involves liaising with nursing staff, carers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Key Features of the Role: Responsibilities
• Prepare, check, and verify nursing home and community DAA packs to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Manage DAA-related orders, processing medication changes promptly and efficiently
• Monitor and maintain patient medication records in line with legal and organisational requirements
• Support the dispensary team with day-to-day operations when needed, including dispensing and counselling
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including AHPRA, PBS guidelines, and internal quality management systems
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, carers, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication queries or updates
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance DAA and dispensary processes
• Maintain a safe, organised, and professional work environment
• Cover shifts for other staff members as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork

Required Qualifications
• Current registration as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or equivalent qualification recognized in Australia
• Previous experience with nursing home packs, community DAA services, or aged care pharmacy preferred
• Competency in dispensary operations, including PBS claiming and medication reconciliation

Educational Requirements
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or equivalent tertiary qualification in pharmacy
• Additional professional development in aged care pharmacy, medication safety, or DAA management is advantageous but not mandatory
