Responsibilities

• Receive and assess prescriptions for legal and clinical accuracy
• Review patient medication histories to ensure appropriate dosage and compatibility
• Prepare or supervise the preparation and labelling of medications including liquids, ointments, powders, tablets, and other formulations
• Counsel patients regarding medication usage, side effects, storage, and administration methods
• Advise prescribers on potential drug incompatibilities and contraindications
• Review and monitor patient therapy plans to assess effectiveness and safety
• Maintain prescription records and monitor dispensing of narcotics, poisons, and controlled drugs
• Ensure proper storage of vaccines, serums, and temperature-sensitive medicines

• Supervise and coordinate pharmacy staff when required
• Assist in maintaining operational standards, including compliance with QCPP and internal policies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or equivalent qualification
• Current General Registration (without conditions or undertakings) with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Proven experience in Australian community pharmacy
