About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Dispense medications safely and accurately as per doctor prescriptions
• Review prescriptions for dosage accuracy, drug interactions, and allergies
• Provide medication counseling to patients on usage, side effects, and storage
• Maintain inventory, monitor stock levels, and check for drug expiry
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH guidelines, and drug safety regulations
• Collaborate with doctors and nurses for expert pharmaceutical support
• Manage emergency and critical care medication supply for ICU, ER, and surgical departments
• Handle narcotic and high-risk drug storage as per legal regulations
• Stay updated with new drug formulations, advancements, and clinical research
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records for all dispensed medications
Qualification
• B.Pharm (Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy) / M.Pharm (Master's degree in Pharmacy) from a recognized institution
Experience
• 2–10 years in hospital or clinical pharmacy
Skills
• In-depth knowledge of drug formulations and interactions
• Familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and EMRs
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing
• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
• Ability to work under pressure in ICU and emergency settings
• Knowledge of national drug regulations, NABH guidelines, and quality control
