Job Description

A full-time Pharmacist in Charge is required for Central Clinic in Warragul. This is a Monday to Friday role (9:00am – 5:30pm), with dispensary technician support available until 1:00pm daily.

The PIC will oversee all pharmacy operations, ensure regulatory compliance, manage dispensing accuracy, and deliver high-quality clinical and advisory services. The position requires strong leadership, independent decision-making capability, and commitment to patient-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations and ensure regulatory compliance
• Dispense prescription medicines accurately and safely
• Provide professional counselling on prescription and non-prescription medicines
• Deliver high standards of patient-centred care
• Collaborate closely with clinic doctors and healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate dispensing records and controlled substance registers
• Ensure compliance with AHPRA and relevant pharmacy legislation
• Supervise and guide dispensary technician during support hours
• Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and storage conditions
• Ensure cold chain compliance for temperature-sensitive medicines
• Maintain professional standards, ethical practice, and quality service delivery
• Lead and foster a positive and professional pharmacy environment

Educational and Registration Requirements

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent qualification)
• Current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Mandatory

Experience and Skills

Experience:
• Prior experience in community pharmacy preferred
• Experience in leadership or Pharmacist in Charge role desirable

Technical Skills:
• Strong dispensing accuracy and clinical knowledge
• Knowledge of pharmacy regulatory requirements
• Inventory and stock management capability
• Understanding of PBS processing and pharmacy software systems

Behavioral Skills:
• Ability to work independently as a sole pharmacist
