Pharmacist III

Roles & Responsibilities
• Review, evaluate, and process medication orders for demographic details (age, gender, weight), therapeutic appropriateness, dose, frequency, route, dosage form, allergies, interactions, laboratory values, and potential drug interactions
• Prepare, fill, compound, and double-check sterile and non-sterile medications according to the area of practice
• Operate, restock, and troubleshoot pharmacy robotic and automated dispensing equipment as applicable
• Maintain control, security, and accurate record-keeping of all medications, including controlled and narcotic substances, in compliance with laws and regulations
• Pre-package tablets, capsules, and oral liquid medications using repackaging/robotic equipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation
• Monitor and support medication-related activities of junior pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, residents, trainees, and students under senior pharmacist guidance
• Maintain optimal inventory levels, monitor expiry dates, and process disposal of expired medications through electronic systems in a timely manner
• Ensure cleanliness of pharmacy work areas, including hoods and countertops
• Distribute medications to nursing units as required
• Conduct nursing unit and clinic inspections and monthly checks of outdated pharmacy stocks and supplies, maintaining approved records
• Participate in performance and quality improvement initiatives
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards
• Participate in continuous education, training, and professional development activities

Qualifications
• Pharm.D. or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy

Experience
• Relevant hospital pharmacy experience preferred

Skills
• Strong knowledge of medication safety and pharmacy practice standards
• Experience with sterile and non-sterile compounding
• Familiarity with pharmacy automation and robotic systems
• Inventory management and documentation skills
• Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
