Pediatric ICU Nurse

Role & Responsibilities
• Provide safe, compassionate, and culturally competent nursing care to children and young people in PICU
• Follow the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
• Deliver individualized and comprehensive patient care based on evidence-based practice
• Monitor, document, and evaluate the child’s condition, interventions, and response to treatment
• Develop, implement, and update patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Escalate clinical concerns promptly using appropriate chain of command
• Participate in supervision, mentoring, and teaching of junior nursing staff
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and quality protocols
• Provide family-centered care and support to parents and caregivers

Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Pediatric / Child Health Nursing OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (minimum three years duration) from an accredited institution
• Post Graduate qualification in Pediatric Nursing preferred
• Specialty certification (Critical Care, Neonatology, Emergency, etc.) preferred

Experience
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience in pediatric hospital settings required
• OR 2 years RN experience including 1 year in child & adolescent mental health

Skills
• Strong pediatric critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Ability to handle emergency and high-acuity clinical situations
• Critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a physically demanding hospital environment
