Oral Health Therapist
About the Role
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Examine and diagnose dental decay, gum diseases, and other oral health conditions.
• Provide routine dental treatments to members of the Aboriginal community.
• Plan and implement oral health programs that promote overall health and wellbeing.
• Deliver oral health education and promotional activities in a culturally appropriate manner.
• Assess community oral health needs and contribute to improving oral health outcomes.
• Work across clinic, school-based, community, and mobile dental services.
• Collaborate with health professionals, community groups, and relevant stakeholders.
Qualification:
• Bachelor of Oral Health.
• Current registration with AHPRA.
Experience:
• Demonstrated experience in a wide range of oral health procedures.
• Knowledge of community, public, and Aboriginal oral health.
• Experience working with health service agencies, NGOs, community groups, and medical professionals.
Skills:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to build and maintain strong community relationships.
• High level of empathy and cultural awareness.
• Ability to work flexibly under tight schedules and variable workloads.
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to obtain National Police Check, Working with Children Check, First Aid & CPR certification.
• Valid unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence (Class C or equivalent).
