Occupational Therapist

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Develop and oversee reablement programs tailored to individual client goals.
• Support clients to re-engage in community activities and improve independence.
• Conduct assessments and implement appropriate treatment interventions.
• Provide education, coaching, and support to clients, carers, and direct care staff.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, nurses, podiatrists, and therapy assistants.
• Plan and prioritise workload effectively while working autonomously in the community.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with service and contractual standards.

Qualification:
• Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Current AHPRA registration (or eligibility).
• Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable).

Experience:
• Demonstrated experience in allied health practice.
• Previous experience in community or residential aged care environment preferred.
• Experience in assessment, treatment planning, and reablement approaches.

Skills:
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills.
• Knowledge of aged care and community-based service delivery.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to educate and coach clients and care staff.
• Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literacy in documentation, spreadsheets, and scheduling systems.
• Empathetic, flexible, and client-centred approach.
