Responsibilities
• Assess, plan, and deliver individualized occupational therapy interventions for children and young adults with autism and developmental disabilities
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of sensory processing, motor coordination, cognitive abilities, and daily living skills
• Develop and implement Individualized Developmental Plans (IDPs) focusing on sensory integration, motor skills, emotional regulation, and communication
• Use evidence-based therapy techniques and adaptive strategies to improve functional independence
• Utilize assistive technology and adaptive equipment to support learning, mobility, and independence
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including special educators, speech therapists, physiotherapists, and teachers
• Train and guide parents and caregivers to support therapy strategies at home
• Educate families and teachers on sensory regulation, behaviour management, and injury prevention
• Participate in community outreach activities and home-based visits to identify and support individuals needing therapy
• Maintain accurate documentation including assessment reports, treatment plans, and progress notes
• Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy plans when necessary
• Follow organizational policies, ethical standards, and regulatory guidelines while providing care
• Stay updated with current research and best practices in occupational therapy
Required Qualification
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
