Job Description

Far West Local Health District is hiring an Occupational Therapist – Adult CMHDA for a permanent full-time role based in Broken Hill. Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based occupational therapy services to adult mental health consumers
• Deliver services across community and inpatient mental health and drug & alcohol programs
• Apply recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approaches to therapy and rehabilitation
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Support patients in improving functional capacity and independence
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and electronic medical records
• Participate in clinical assessments, care planning, and treatment implementation
• Provide support and guidance to colleagues and students when required

Required Qualification

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist

• Demonstrated experience in recovery-oriented occupational therapy within an adult mental health setting
• Understanding of severe and persistent mental illness and drug & alcohol impacts on individuals

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office and electronic health systems

• Valid unrestricted Class C driver’s licence for use in NSW and willingness to travel across the Local Health District
