Medical Science Liaison - Oncology

Role & Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers to provide comprehensive medical and scientific support for AbbVie Oncology initiatives
• Execute the India Medical Affairs plan and deliver scientific education/training across the AbbVie Oncology portfolio
• Plan and lead scientific communication with key therapy leaders and stakeholders, including advisory boards and round tables
• Facilitate and support clinical trial activities and research initiatives in collaboration with R&D, Clinical Operations, and Medical Affairs
• Provide fair, balanced, non-promotional scientific information to healthcare professionals on current and future AbbVie therapies
• Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with thought leaders, academic centres, and researchers to stay current on medical/scientific developments
• Serve as an internal medical/scientific resource for disease-state and product communications ensuring medical accuracy, balance, and regulatory compliance
• Work closely with commercial leaders, therapeutic leads, and Medical Affairs leadership to align priorities and activities
• Present scientific/clinical data to physicians, academic institutions, researchers, and other healthcare professionals upon request
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation of medical-led activities and manage annual expenses within assigned budgets
• Conduct ongoing training for Medical Affairs, field sales, and other internal teams as required
• Maintain strict compliance with AbbVie ethics, EHS, financial, HR, and business policies and all applicable regulatory requirements
• Spend significant field time with high travel expectation (approximately 60% of time outside the office) and act as a local representative for relevant global medical functions (eg PV, HEOR)

Qualification
• MD or MBBS

Experience
• 2 to 3 years post-qualification experience in Medical Affairs function
• Pharmaceutical industry or clinical research experience preferred
• Proven experience working cross-functionally in a matrix structure supporting multiple stakeholders

• Strong presentation, teaching, and influencing skills
• Ability to learn quickly and communicate complex clinical/non-clinical information to varied audiences
• Relationship building with KOLs, academic centres, and researchers
• Analytical thinking to evaluate and communicate clinical data effectively
• Documentation discipline and compliance mindset
• Proficiency with technology tools including Microsoft Office
