About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide safe, high-quality medical care to patients in the Coronary Care Unit
• Support 24/7 patient care by conducting ward rounds, urgent reviews, and emergency responses
• Work closely with Visiting Medical Practitioners (VMPs) to facilitate patient management and treatment plans
• Manage acute and high-dependency cardiac patients in line with clinical protocols
• Contribute to hospital safety culture as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Collaborate with Medical Officers, Clinical Nurses, and Nurse Managers to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and comply with National Safety and Quality Health Care standards
• Follow infection control, workplace health and safety, and hospital policies
• Participate in rotating shifts including AM, PM, and night duties
Qualification
• Bachelor of Medicine or equivalent qualification
• Current and unrestricted registration with AHPRA
• Current ALS and PALS certification
Experience
• Minimum 3 years full-time postgraduate medical experience
• Broad experience in acute and high-dependency clinical settings
• PGY4 level or above preferred
• Recent experience managing complex acute care patients
Skills
• Strong clinical skills in acute and cardiac care settings
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong decision-making and clinical judgement
• Commitment to person-centred care and continuous professional development
