MD Pathologist

Role & Responsibilities
• Oversee the technical operations of the laboratory sections to ensure smooth functioning
• Ensure all processes in each department comply with established protocols
• Check and maintain quality control in all assigned departments
• Verify results and sign off on final test reports across various disciplines (Hematology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Serology)
• Request reruns of tests if discrepancies are noticed or to cross-verify results
• Monitor turnaround times to ensure timely delivery of reports
• Conduct training sessions for lab staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
• Assess the competency of lab staff and identify training needs
• Identify and take corrective actions on non-conformities observed in daily activities
• Provide advice on test selection, use of laboratory services, and interpretation of data
• Define, implement, and monitor standards of performance and quality management systems
• Ensure sufficient qualified personnel with adequate training and experience are available to meet laboratory needs
• Approve and specify all test methods to be used in the laboratory
• Follow the code of professional ethics and implement good laboratory practices
• Assign competent personnel to conduct tests and ensure accurate results

Skills
• Strong knowledge of laboratory practices and operations
• Experience in staff training and competency assessments
• Excellent attention to detail and quality control standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for staff training and collaboration
• Ability to assess and resolve non-conformities in laboratory activities

• MD in Pathology
