About the Role
Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide clinical pharmacy services within the Surgical Assessment Unit
• Dispense medications accurately and ensure safe supply processes
• Conduct comprehensive medication reviews and reconciliation
• Deliver clinical advice to healthcare professionals and patients
• Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds
• Support optimal pharmacotherapy and patient outcomes
• Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines
• Ensure safe storage, handling, and governance of medicines
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and professional standards
• Supervise and support junior pharmacy staff where required
• Document interventions and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualification
• Bachelor of Pharmacy
• Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Experience
• Recent acute hospital pharmacy experience
• Experience in surgical or ward-based clinical pharmacy (highly desirable)
• Proven experience conducting medication reviews and clinical assessments
• Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Skills
• Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of pharmacotherapy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute setting
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Sound knowledge of pharmacy governance and regulatory standards
• Team-oriented approach with professional accountability
