Job Description

St Vincent's Hospital Sydney is seeking an experienced pharmacist to join the Pharmacy Department as Lead Pharmacist – Education and Training (Pharmacist Grade 3). The successful candidate will lead the Pharmacy Education and Training Program, supporting workforce capability, clinical excellence, and organisational objectives. The role involves developing structured education programs, mentoring pharmacy staff, and contributing to high-quality clinical pharmacy services. This position also requires collaboration with the Pharmacy Leadership Team and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with national competency frameworks and healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Pharmacy Education and Training Program.
• Design, implement, and evaluate structured pharmacy education initiatives.
• Support and mentor pharmacists, interns, and pharmacy technicians.
• Maintain advanced clinical pharmacy competence while delivering clinical services.
• Develop and review Pharmacy Department Standards of Practice.
• Lead intern training, student placements, and continuing professional development activities.
• Contribute to medication safety, clinical governance, and workforce development initiatives.
• Collaborate with universities, professional organisations, and healthcare partners.
• Participate in committees and working groups related to pharmacy practice and education.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent pharmacy qualification.
• Current pharmacist registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Post-registration qualifications or equivalent experience in clinical education, workforce development, or pharmacy leadership.
• Eligibility to work in Australia (Australian or New Zealand citizen or valid work visa).
